Obituary for Jack E. Lynch
Jack E. Lynch, age 89, of Knox, Indiana, died peacefully at his home on Bass Lake on October 12, 2015. He was born on October 26, 1925 in Rockwell City, Iowa. He married Peggy Jo Logan from Winamac, IN on December 15, 1946. They were married for 65 years until Peggy's death in 2011. Jack served 2 tours of duty in the U.S. Navy before moving his family to Elkhart IN where he worked in the mobile home industry for many years. He owned and operated Florence Distributing Company, a distributor of mobile home appliances, grew that company, and then later it became, Dometic Sales Corp., a division of Electrolux of Sweden. During those years he was one of only two suppliers on the board of the National Association of Mobile Home Dealers. Retiring at the age of 45, Jack and Peggy moved to Bass Lake in 1972. He was a founding member of the Starke County Economic Development Foundation and was proud to have played a role in bringing hundreds of new jobs to the area during his 25 year tenure. He also served as a member of the Starke County Airport Board and was a pilot himself. His other accomplishments include,Vice-Chairman for Starke United Campaign in 1996 and Knox Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year" 1991. He was also proud of his farmland in Iowa and enjoyed being out in Calhoun & Pocahontas Counties in Iowa. Jack is survived by his children Don Lynch, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Murna Lindsey (Ron), Rockford IL, Kathy Clees, Bass Lake, IN and his brother Don Lynch, Anaheim CA. He also leaves many memories in the hearts of his grandchildren-Chad Hoffman, Amy Clees, Cristen Clees, Sarah Lynch, Anna Lynch, Kate Lynch-Aten, Lynn Lynch, Eddie Lynch, Alyss Lynch and his great grandchildren Alexis, Briana and Colton Hoffman and Molly Clees. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert W. "Bob" Lynch, Knox IN and his sister Bette Lensing, Des Moines IA.
