Obituary for Betty J. Blessing
Betty J. Blessing, age 85, of Knox, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Betty was born June 19, 1929 in Winamac, Indiana to Jesse and Rilla (Young) Werner, both deceased. On July 24, 1949, in Knox, she married Robert J. Blessing. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2001. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Dolezal (Greg) of Knox, and Gary Blessing (Joan) of North Stonington, CT, a granddaughter, Kelly John (Mark) of St. Charles, IL, and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Zachary. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen J. Blessing and a brother, Raymond Werner. Funeral services will be Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11am (CT) with visitation one hour prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to VNA Hospice, 901 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN 46360, would be appreciated.
