Obituary for Ronald E. Loeffler, Sr.
Ronald E. Loeffler, Sr., age 89, of Knox, passed away Monday, October 25, 2014 at his home. Ron was born February 16, 1925 in South Bend, Indiana to Charles F. and Alma M. (Barbknecht) Loeffler, both deceased. Ron was a WWII Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy, a member of the Knox VFW and the Bass Lake Lions Club. He was a Master Carpenter who loved good cigars, good whiskey, good company, woodworking, bird watching and gardening. He is survived by his children, Valerie J. Loeffler of Terre Haute, Mark D. Loeffler of Albany, OR, Stephen Loeffler (Annette) of LaPorte, and Julieanne Scott (Ernie) of South Bend, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Loeffler Jr., and brothers, Walter, Ralph, Richard and Allen Loeffler. Funeral services will take place Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00pm, with visitation two hours prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, 153 E. Washington St., Knox, IN 46534. Interment will be private.
