Obituary for Gary Porter Catlett
Gary Porter Catlett, age 67, of Knox, IN passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at his home. Gary was born April 10, 1947 in Jones County, Iowa to Gail and Selma (Antons) Catlett, both deceased. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy, a long time member of the North Judson American Legion and the San Pierre Volunteer Fire Department. On June 18, 1999 he married Theresa Alexander M.D., she survives. Also surviving are his children, Todd Catlett (Rita) of Nichols, IA, Kim Shepherd (Gerald) of Winamac, IN, Heather Noble (Jason) of Hendersonville, TN, and Greg Catlett of Sevierville, TN, step-children, Martin Alexander (Judy) of Peru, IN, Tracy Alexander (Nellie) of Knox, IN, Barb Alexander of Virginia, and Caroline Alexander of Portage, IN, sisters, Sally Edwards of Amber, IA, Jan Thompson (Gary) of Wichita Falls, TX, Gerie Starry (Don) of Monticello, IA, Kathy Sauer (Randy) of Olin, IA, Linda Kreger (Jon) of Olin, IA, Jane Maizel of Olin, IA and Terri Schmit of Olin, IA, 27 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 from 4-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at 11am (CT) at New Hope Baptist Church in Knox. Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
