Obituary for Jerry E. Jones
Jerry E. Jones, age 80, of Culver, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014. Jerry was born September 18, 1933 in Culver, to Lorenzo and Mary (Kistler) Jones, both deceased. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of President Dwight D. Eisenhower's Honor Guard, and later was a volunteer for the placement of Memorial Day flags at Arlington National Cemetery. He had been the Post Master of the Culver Post Office, where he worked for 39 years. On Jan. 8, 1954 he married Dolores Rose Bozart, she preceded him in death on July 8, 1985. He is survived by his children, Michael E. Jones of Bowling Green, KY, Jeffery P. Jones of Hamlet, Timothy A. Jones of Fishers, a brother, James D. Jones of Culver, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen D. Davit. A family graveside service will take place at a later date. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
