Obituary for George H. DePoy
George H. DePoy, age 88, of Culver, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver. George was born September 18, 1925 in Winamac, Indiana, to Oscar A. DePoy and Della Rienebarger DePoy, both deceased. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Germany during WWII. George was a Life Member of the Culver Eagles, and the Walkerton American Legion. He retired form Bendix and had also been a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Hood) DePoy, his children, Claudia Biggins (Tom) of Plymouth, Phillip DePoy (Evelyn) of Culver, and John DePoy (Pam) of Knox, 10 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael DePoy of Culver and a daughter, Christine DePoy, and ten brothers and sisters. A graveside service will take place at a later date. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will take place Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:00pm (CT) at Winamac Cemetery. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
