Obituary for Lorraine Agnes Tetzloff Scherf
Lorraine Agnes (Tetzloff) Scherf, age 79, of Knox, a loving wife and mother, passed away at 10:55 a.m., on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at home under hospice care, with her family surrounding her bedside. Visitation will be held at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox, on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 2-6pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Knox, on Sunday, September 22, 2013 with visitation from 12-1pm and a service following at 1pm. The burial will be at the Round Lake Cemetery near her home. Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Maury, of Knox, her two children, William (Gina) of Knox, and Sharon Scroggins (Dwight) of Hebron, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Robert Tetzloff (Marlene) of Knox, and Donald Tetzloff (Sandy) of Granger, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Laverne (May) Tetzloff, and her brother Arnold. Lorraine was born at home in North Judson, IN to Walter and Laverne on July 22, 1934. She attended North Judson High School, graduating in 1952. Lorraine and Maury married on June 13, 1953. Lorraine has been a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Knox for about 58 years and an associate member of Faith Lutheran church in Dunedin, FL. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing cards, doing puzzles, collecting bird figurines, going to Florida during the winter months, and making the best "homemade" jelly around! Our memories of her will be treasured and remembered with great affection.
