Obituary for Geraldine Ann "Gerri" Jackson
Geraldine Ann “Gerri” Jackson, age 90, of Knox, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at her home. Gerri was born July 18, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter Theiss and Helen Steiner Theiss, both deceased. She retired from Starke Memorial Hospital after 13 years in Central Supply. She enjoyed being a military wife, especially all of the travel, she loved cooking and even made cook books for her family, and loved anything to do with crafts, including quilting and sewing, making many homemade gifts for her family members. She was a devout member of the New Hope Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School. On September 15, 1951 she married Kenard Jackson, he preceded her in death on August 18, 2018. She is survived by her children, Debra K. Frost of Phoenix, AZ, Ronald E. Jackson of Dyer, IN, Larry W. Jackson of Pontiac, IL, and Sandra J. Zeigler of Knox, a sister, Lavern Callahan of St. Louis, MO, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 5-8pm(CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11am (CT) at the New Hope Baptist Church in Knox. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
