Obituary for Mary Irene Stephenson
Mary Irene Stephenson, age 98, of LaPorte, formerly of Knox, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018. Mary was born November 28, 1919 in Brems, Indiana to Wilson Clark and Elva Mae Werner Clark, both deceased. She had worked for many years in Housekeeping for Starke Memorial Hospital. On November 27, 1937 she married Claude M. Stephenson, he preceded her in death on April 11, 1986. She is survived only by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Lola Dowd, Esther Shoemaker, Lavern Moore, Lester Smith, Orville Clark, Paul Clark and Dean Clark. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11:00am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will take place at the Hanna Cemetery in Hanna, Indiana.
