Obituary for Shirley Mae Elam
Shirley Mae Elam, age 89, of Bonita Springs, Florida, formerly of Knox, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her home. Shirley was born December 10, 1928 in Dock, Kentucky to William Bradley and Sallie Bell Patton Bradley, both deceased. On April 19, 1947, in Knox, Indiana, she married Joseph E. Elam, he survives. Also surviving are her children, Susan Campbell Heath (Barry) of Bonita Springs, FL and Joseph Evans Elam, Jr. (Valerie) of Bonita Springs, FL, a sister, Donna Godair (Leonard) of Katy, TX, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Billie Jo Pawlik and Pamela Joy Cowen, and a brother, William Bradley, Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral services will be Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will take place at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Knox. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name to the HOPE Hospice at Bonita Springs, 27200 Imperial St., Bonita Springs, FL 34135, would be appreciated.
