Obituary for Thomas Stephen Luby
Thomas Stephen Luby, age 74, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Tom was born November 12, 1942 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Stephen and Loretta (Scharf) Luby, both deceased. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force in Viet Nam. He was an active member and past Commander of Knox VFW Post 748 and Post 8081 in Warrenville, Illinois, and was a retired volunteer firefighter on the Washington Township Fire Department. On August 17, 1968 he married Janeane E. Kluska, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Kristin Luby of Knox, Valerie Luby of Plymouth and Thomas Luby of Roswell, Georgia, a sister, Laurie Stecker (Gerald) of Palatine, Illinois, and a brother, Michael Luby (Barbara) of Midlothian, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Luby. Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 4-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 11am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment and military graveside services will take place at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Knox. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Millhouse, 25600 Kelly Rd., South Bend, IN 46614.
