Obituary for Joan Louise Newsome
Joan Louise Newsome, age 61, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Joan was born October 15, 1955 in Gary, Indiana to Kenneth and Alta (Morgan) Collins, both deceased. On June 28, 1975 she married Bennie Newsome, he preceded her in death on May 21, 2003. She is survived by her Daughter, Lynn Mildice (Jimmy DeWitt) of Knox, granddaughters, Brooklynn Manns, Kylee Mildice and Presley DeWitt, all of Knox, brothers, Jim Collins (Loretta) of Knox, Ron Collins (Carol) of Paducah, KY, and Wilbur Collins (Donna) of Knox, and a sister, Vickie Busart (Mike) of Culver, and her long-time companion, Martin Patrick of Knox. She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Newsome and brothers, Kenneth Collins (Carol), Bobby Collins, and Terry Collins. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:30pm (CT), with visitation starting at 10am on Saturday at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
