John L. Ruwersma, age 90 of Knox, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. John was born June 16, 1927 in Boone Grove, IN to Harold and Edna (Rittle) Ruwersma. He is a World War II Navy veteran. He is survived by his children, Helen Olsen (Glen) of Kouts, Darrell Ruwersma (Paula) of Plymouth, John Cargo (Mary) of Winamac, Joanne Atkin (Bill) of Garland, TX, Rose Evans (Steve) of Allen, TX, Ravinia Lucas (Jim) of Pine River, MN, Harold Ruwersma (Star) of Valparaiso, Roger Ruwersma (Marcy) of Union Mills, Wendall Ruwersma (Shelly) of Kouts, Adah Botta (Chris) of New York Mills, MN, 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Brothers and sisters, Ruth Dye, Marguritte Mary Mace, Stewart (Stu) Ruwersma, Catherine (Kate) Easton, and Harmon (Gene) Ruwersma. He was preceded by a brother and a sister Oscar (Ozzie) Ruwersma, and Darlene Blair.
A Memorial service will be Monday, August 14, 2017 at 6:30pm at the New Hope Baptist Church.
