Obituary for Nancy Sue Jones
Nancy Sue Jones, 72, of Knox, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 15, 1949 in Browder, Kentucky to Boss and Grady (Hudson) Phelps. Sue married Donald Ray Jones on October 5, 1963 in Greenville, Kentucky.
She enjoyed playing softball, horseshoes, cards, bingo, driving her Mustang and loved cooking for her family. Sue had a spit-fire personality and would quickly speak her mind; but you couldn’t help but love her for it. She loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them, especially her grand “babies”.
Survivors include her children, Michael (Pam) Jones of Plymouth; Vicki (Lamar) Glover of Knox; and Billy (Layla) Jones of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother Billy (Cindy) Phelps of Texas; and many family and friends who lives were touched by Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 1pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
