Obituary for Charles A. "Charlie" Troyer
Charles A. “Charlie” Troyer, age 84, of Knox, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021. Charlie was born July 1, 1937 in Knox, to Irvin Troyer and Leona Burger Troyer. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Airforce, he was a member of the Hamlet American Legion, the Knox VFW and the Knox Moose Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, especially in Spooner, Wisconsin, hunting and finding mushrooms at his secret mushroom hunting spots. He also loved playing pool at the Hamlet American Legion Post. He is survived by his long-time companion, Barbara Seaman of Knox, his children, Gene Troyer (Andrea) of Hamlet, Teresa Watson (Chuck) of Valparaiso, and Brenda Mitchell of Knox, a brother, John Troyer of Plymouth, sisters, Ruth Minix of Knox and Carolyn Hensley of Star City, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dewey and Thomas Troyer, and sisters, Norma Troyer, Betty Troyer, Arlene Ritchie and Darlene Badsky.
A celebration of life will take place at the Hamlet American Legion Post 356 on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm (CT). In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the local American Legion Posts, the VFW or the Humane Society. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
