Obituary for Clara Schacht
Clara Schacht, age 77, of North Judson, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021. Clara was born October 29, 1943 in Knox, to Lawrence and Rosie (Risner) Queer, both deceased. She loved spending time with her grandkids, cooking for the family on holidays, taking vacations, crocheting and quilting. She was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Judson and loved attending bible study. She had driven a school bus for the North Judson-San Pierre Schools for nearly 30 years and was the Wayne Township Trustee for 20 years. On August 5, 1961, she married Donald Schacht, he preceded her in death on February 1, 2019. She is survived by her children, Donald Lee Schacht of San Pierre, Pamela Nix (Tim) of San Pierre, Patricia Ann Ream (Kris) of Greenwood, IN, David Wayne Schacht (Dolores) of Lakeland, FL, and Doug Schacht (Michelle) of Greenwood, IN, four siblings, Leroy Queer of Kingsbury, IN, Marge Wolf (Charles) of North Judson, Linda Crosby (Donald) of Plymouth, and Tom Queer (Bev) of Knox, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Ray Schacht.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 4-8pm(CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 11am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Judson. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson.
