Obituary for Evelyn Mae Sunblade
Evelyn Mae Sunblade, age 90, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Golden Living Center in Valparaiso. Evelyn was born September 9, 1926 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Simon Edward Sunblade and Mable Bales Sunblade, both deceased. She had one brother, Curtis Sunblade who passed away shortly after birth. She is survived by a son, Simon E. Sunblade (Deborah) of Valparaiso and two grandchildren, Simon Edward Joshua Sunblade and Jessica Stephanie Steleve Sunblade. Evelyn left Nebraska at age 18 and lived and worked in various cities around the U.S. In 1951, she moved to Chicago and worked at multiple restaurants until 1975 when she started at the Palmer House in Chicago, where she worked until retirement in 1989. She continued to live in Chicago until moving to Valparaiso with her family in 2013. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will take place at a later date. M.C.
