Obituary for Virginia Gruwell
Virginia “Ginny” (Blankenship) Gruwell passed away at home on Thursday, October 29, after a long illness.
Ginny was born August 10, 1947 In Keokuk, IA, to parents Pete & Mildred Blankenship.
Ginny married Gene Gruwell on June 28, 1986 in Iowa City IA. They later moved to Plymouth, IN where Gene later died in March, 2005.
Ginny was known as 'Mom" or "Grandma" to friends of her children & grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed spending time with her. When she was around, there was a lot laughter &'fun to be had. Ginny went to Iowa to see her children & grandchildren every chance she got.
She enjoyed going to garage sales & mushroom hunting. She also enjoyed fishing.
Ginny was survived by 2 brothers, Lem & Gorda Blankenship, both of Keokuk, IA. Sons Chris Loring of Keokuk, IA, Larry Loringf & wife Tara of Ft. Benning, GA & Rik Hansen of Iowa City, IA.. Daughters Lori Sirēne & husband, Julion of Des Moines, IA, Candy Ecker & husband, Stan, of Indianola, IA, Jody Forman & common law husband, Byron, of N. Liberty, IA & Toni Smith of Knox, IN. She had several grandchildren &; great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband &: parents, children Tari Hansen, Kelly Dooley & Darin *Dewey" Forman &: grandsons Dustin Loring & Tyler Fetters.
