Obituary for Vernon Lee Fletcher
Vernon Lee Fletcher, age 68, of Knox, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Vernon was born on September 26, 1951 in LaPorte, Indiana to Earl Vernon Fletcher and Arpha Cole Fletcher, both deceased. He graduated in 1969 from Knox High School and worked for Coca Cola and Can Cor in Valparaiso as a mechanic before starting his own business, Fletcher’s Well Drilling, LLC in 1995. He loved spending time at the cottage on the Tippecanoe River, fishing, playing cards and being with his grandkids. On January 18, 1975 he married Cynthia Webb Fletcher, she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Shawn Fletcher (Nichole) and David Fletcher, both of Knox, brothers, Craig Fletcher of Winamac and Duane Fletcher of Medaryville, grandchildren, Katlin, Trey, Dalanie, Braden, Adelynn, Riley, Tyson, and Aliya, and a great granddaughter, Kinsley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas and a granddaughter, Kylie Jo. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 6:00pm (CT), with visitation starting at 3:00pm (CT), at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Turkey Tracks Eric Corey Foundation or Dunes Hospice.
