Obituary for Michael E. Babiarz Jr.
Michael E. Babiarz Jr., of Knox, passed away July 26, 2020. Michael was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 2, 1948 to Michael and Theresa (Liczkowski) Babiarz. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Michael loved the outdoors, especially camping. His favorite places to visit were state parks in Indiana and Kentucky with his camping buddy and nephew, Steven Babiarz and brothers. Among his other passions were hiking, fishing, collecting Lionel Trains, reading and watching Sci-Fi movies. He is survived by his brothers, Anthony (Nona) Babiarz of Tinley Park, IL, Dennis (Diane) Babiarz of Lowell, IN, and Dwayne Babiarz of Knox, one sister, Cheryl Babiarz Hernadez of Lowell, IN, uncles, Richard Babiarz of Chicago, and Lenny Liczkowski of Huntley, IL, many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael E. Babiarz Sr. and his mother, Theresa (Liczkowski) Babiarz.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Dwayne Babiarz. M.C. Smit Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
