Obituary for William James "Bill" Cook
William James “Bill” Cook, age 70, of Knox passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord, Jesus Christ at the LaPorte Hospital on July 15, 2020 after a brief illness. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from May 1969 to May 1975 Platoon 2123. He enjoyed feeding squirrels & birds, reading, fishing and talking about his hobbies.
He was born in Gary, Indiana to Walter and Betty Lou Cook, who preceded him in death. On November 13, 1971 he married Darla Johnson, she survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Michelle Leed (Mike), sister, Terri Rife of Kentucky, and grandchildren, B. Brendan Minix, Meaghan Simpson, Morgan Leed and Dawson Leed, brother-in-law, Dale Johnson of Arizona and a niece, Tracy Johnson of Arizona.
Due to the Co-Vid pandemic, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Starke County Veterans Memorial Plaza or the family.
