Obituary for Barbara A. Kern
Barbara A. Kern, age 77, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at her home. Barb was born October 15, 1942 in Chicago to Edward and Mary Jane Best, both deceased. On July 19, 1962 she married Charles “Chuck” Kern, he preceded her in death in 2007. Barbara was a woman who loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids, as she had several. She loved to go to bingo, where she was known as “Bingo Barb”. She loved her sweets and she loved to dance. She was very funny and loved to play jokes on everyone. She was full of life and happiness and had friends wherever she went. She was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Bowers of Tennessee, Mary Sibo of Knox, John Kern of Knox, Michael Kern of Winamac and Timothy Kern of Winamac, a brother, Charles Best of Arizona and a sister, Donna Pressley of Florida. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frank Kern, a grandson, Ryan Sibo, and two brothers, Edward and Alfred Best. Private family services will take place at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
