Obituary for Walter J. Hunter
Walter J. Hunter, age 82, of Knox, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Ocoee, Florida. Walter was born April 8, 1934 at the Lightning Dude Ranch at Bass Lake, to Walter C. Hunter and Velma (Dickson) Hunter, both deceased. He had worked for 31 years for the United Telephone Company and Sprint, retiring as the C.O.E. Tech. In 1975 he married Barbara Flagg, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Lora Estok (Dennis) of Knox, Joe Hunter (Paula) of Knox, Chip Hunter (Cindy) of Plymouth, sisters, Kathy Olds (Randy) of Bloomington, IL, and Patty Fiscel (Mike) of Logansport, IN, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Hunter. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 4-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
