Obituary for Vivian Kay Demis
Vivian K. Demis, age 77, of Knox, passed away peacefully in her home on August 19, 2020. Vivian was born June 5, 1943 in Gary, Indiana to Edward and Mary Jane (Peters) Zaborowski. She was a retired nurse having worked at Starke Memorial Hospital and the VA Hospital in Lake City, Florida. She had also been an EMT for Starke County EMS. In her free time she enjoyed camping, cooking, and decorating her home for every holiday season. Finding a bargain at a garage sale was one of her favorite activities as well. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In 1959 she met James Demis and on June 24, 1961 they were married, he survives. Also surviving are their children, James Demis Jr. (Barbara) of Hamlet, IN and Robert Demis of Plymouth, IN, grandchildren, Chad Demis (Jessica) of Grovertown, IN, Willy Demis of Indianapolis, Nicole Demis of Plymouth, IN, Christopher Demis (Brittany) of Plymouth, IN, Darren Demis (Becky) of Mishawaka, IN, and great grandchildren, Jaelyn, Malia, Moses, Lauren and David. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Windbigler, and a brother, Mark Zaborowski.
A funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 4pm (CT), with visitation beginning at 1pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
