Obituary for Thomas Richard Holt
Thomas R. Holt, age 77, of Knox, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023. Tom was born December 7, 1945 in Winamac, Indiana to Roy Holt and Ida Oliver Holt, both deceased. He retired from the Telephone Company as a cable-splicer after 37 years, first with United Telephone Company and finally with Sprint. He was a member of IBEW Local 723 for over 50 years. He loved carpentry and woodworking, having built many cabinets and shelves for family members, up to having a hand in building his own home. He also loved tinkering with electronics, repairing antique radios and even built his own television. He was also a huge Notre Dame Football fan. On April 20, 1968 he married Linda Keiser-Scott, she survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Kenda Kulpa (Andy) of Knox and Kelli Stump (Tim) of Plymouth, and his four grandchildren, Colin, Caitlin and Carissa Kulpa and Chelsea Stump. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Thomas Roy Holt, a sister, Dorothy Stacy, and two brothers, Robert & Dennis Holt. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Eagle Creek Church or Dunes Hospice.
