Obituary for Theresa O'Brien-Messer
Theresa M. O’Brien-Messer, age 69, from Chicago, passed away in her Knox home of over 35 years on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Theresa was known best in the community for her work at the Knox Veterinary Clinic and as a Substitute Teacher for the local schools. She had a supreme love for horses and dogs, and shined brightest doing that work.
She is survived by her two children, Richard Wagner (Janet) of Chicago, Illinois and Lindsey Rinaldi (Domenico) of Waterman, Illinois, her grandchildren, Veronica Wagner, Kara Wagner, Richie Wagner, and Luciana Rinaldi, her sisters, Patty-Jo Arzola (John) of Knox and Gina Zuganelis (Jim) of Acworth, Georgia, and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick O’Brien of Palos Hills, Illinois, her mother and step-father, Joan and John Themascus of Knox, her sister Kathleen Keenan (Larry) Atlanta, Michigan, and her brother, Timothy O’Brien of Knox.
Theresa’s final request was that she be cremated and there will be no viewing or services. Memorials may be made to the family or to the Starke County Humane Society in North Judson, Indiana.
