Obituary for Stuart L. Thompson
Stuart L. Thompson, age 80, of Knox, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023. He was born April 24, 1943 in LaPorte, Indiana to Abel Thompson and Rosemary Thompson Johnson, both deceased. Stuart had worked for over 50 years for Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 4. He was also a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. He loved horses and dogs, and spent many years participating in horse pulling competitions and coon hunting behind his favorite dogs. He also loved watching any kind of sports. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thompson, his son, Joshua Thompson (Rynn) of South Bend, his daughter, Elizabeth Thompson-Beauchamp (Shawn Yount) of Knox, brothers, David Thompson of Knox, Terry Thompson and Douglas Thompson, both of Plymouth, and grandchildren, Victor Beauchamp, Vivian Beauchamp, Brian Thompson, Tristan Yount, Landan Yount and Bailee Yount. He was preceded in death by his brother, Todd Thompson. A visitation will take place Friday, November 24, 2023 from 2-7pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 1pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial with military graveside services will follow at Burr Oak Cemetery. Please make memorial contributions in his name to the children’s hospital of the donors choice
