Obituary for Stella Darnell
Stella Darnell, age 88, of Knox, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015. Stella was born March 24, 1927 in East Chicago, Indiana, to Stanley Spejewski and Virginia Grelecki Spejewski, both deceased. On December 4, 1943 she married Clyde Darnell, Sr., he preceded her in death on January 2, 2005. Stella worked for many years as a Cook for the Little Company of Mary Nursing Home in San Pierre, as well as, Countryside Place Nursing Home in Knox. She is survived by her children, Claudia Darnell of Calumet City, IN, Pam Suter (Rick) of Lady Lake, FL, Jeffery Darnell (Eydye) of Claypool, IN, Pattie Michael of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Michael Darnell (Andrea) of North Judson, IN, a sister, Sue Jongsma of Portage, IN, and a brother, Gene Spejewski of Portage, IN, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana.
