Obituary for Ronald Pitts
Ronald Pitts, age 75 of Knox, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at his home. He was born September 17, 1950 in LaPorte, Indiana to Mimard and Lucy (Rowe) Pitts. He had retired as a foreman from Norfolk and Southern Rail Road and had worked farming after his retirement. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He is survived by his long-time friend, Cindy Carroll, his children, Ronnie Pitts (Tara) of North Judson, Laurie McCay (Russell White) of Knox, Rhonda Noah (Wayne) of Knox, Susie Boese (Pete) of Walkerton, and John Pitts of San Antonio,
Texas, a step-daughter, Sherri Finnegan of Knox, three sisters, Stella Durkin of Pennsylvania, Vernie Howard (Mike) of California, and Juanita Pitts (Doug Allen) of Knox, 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mimard and Lucy Pitts, his wife, Josephine Pitts, a step-son, Roman Finnegan and a brother, Lee “Pete” Trusty.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 2pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
