Obituary for Robert N. Briggs
It is with deep sadness & heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Nicolas Briggs (Bob), who passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, he was 82 yrs old. Bob was a proud husband, father, and grandfather, he will be missed by many & thought of often. Bob was born in Chicago on November 8, 1942. In 1968, he married his one true love, Jacqueline (Jones) and together they raised 3 children in Whiting, IN For over 40 years, Bob was a proud member of the United Steel Workers union. 20+ yrs service at Wisconsin Steel Works & 20 yrs at BP Whiting Refinery where he retired in 1998. Bob enjoyed many hobbies & passions throughout his life which included playing the piano, clarinet, & saxophone, competitive swimming, archery, bowling, drag racing, collecting, & his favorite of all, fishing! Bob was preceded in death by his Mother Helen Slota (Stamos) and his loving wife Jacqueline.
He leaves behind his children Brad (56), Nikole (53), & Michelle (50), his only grandchild Callum (19) as well as his loyal cat companions. A date for a celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date.
