Obituary for Robert L. Hansen
Robert L. Hansen, age 94, of Knox, passed away December 16, 2016 in Titusville, Florida where he had been a resident of Brookdale of Titusville. Robert was born May 3, 1922 in Denham, Indiana to Charles H. Hansen and Frances (James) Hansen, both deceased. He was a Veteran having served in the Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of the Knox VFW Post 748. He had worked at Bendix, retiring after 31 years in 1981. He was a very active member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church having served as head usher and groundskeeper over the years. On October 13, 1946 he married Ramona Kado, she preceded him in death on November 16, 2015. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Nealon (Steve) of Noblesville, Indiana and Jerri Thews of Titusville, Florida, grandchildren, Lindsey O’Neal (Ryan) and Scott Nealon, and great grandchildren, Alyse and Braden O’Neal, and a sister, Janice Laffoon of Lowell, Indiana. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:30am (CT) with visitation one hour prior to services at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Knox. Interment will take place at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac, Indiana. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of St. Francis Foundation, Titusville FL or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
