Obituary for Robert J. "Bob" Rice
Robert J. “Bob” Rice, age 79, of Knox, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Bob was born May 1, 1944 in Chicago to Robert and Novelie Rice, both deceased. Bob had retired as the Area Manager for System Parking in Chicago, but his favorite job was his time as Lieutenant on the Oak Forest, Illinois Fire Department. He was a fantastic husband and father and a very memorable man who was liked by everyone who met him. On August 20, 1993 he married Cheryl Johnson Rice, she survives. Also surviving are this children, Robert Rice (Lieba) and Timothy Rice, his grandchildren, Robert and Amy Rice, a brother, Jack Rice (Terri), and a sister, Jeanne Barta (the late Ted). He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susie Rice. A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 2pm (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Knox.
