Born in Chicago, Illinois on March 10, 1951, to Edwin and Margaret Olejniczak, Robert was raised in Chicago until 1950’s when his family Edwin (father), Margaret (mother), siblings Maryann, Dennis, Greg moved to their farm in Starke County, Indiana. He was known for his kind heart, personality, generous nature, teaching his kids and grandkids all his traits and unwavering dedication to his family, friends and community. Throughout his life, Robert made lasting impressions on everyone he encountered, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bob was a proud Vietnam Veteran, Cabinet maker, delivery driver, mechanic, and maintenance man. This is where he spent 55 years contributing to his field with professionalism and passion. Outside of his work, he found simple joy in being an avid deer hunter, fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his wife, 2 children, and 9 grandchildren. Also, his puppies Jax and Lilly.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Sandra of 51 years, children Amanda and Rob, grandchildren (Amanda’s) Isabella, Michael and Allison Talaga, (Rob & Jasmine’s) Felicity, Maddex and Willow Olejniczak, and Amanda later provided 3 more children Alaina, Ariel and Ry Olejniczak and many other family members and close friends. Bob steered everyone involved to be morally true and to be the best version of themselves no matter what the conditions were. Bob clearly showed that his family was indeed his pride and joy in his life.
He is preceded in death by his father Edwin, mom Marge, and his sister Maryann.
A dinner will be held for his celebration of Bob’s life, on March 9, 2025 at 1 p.m. (CT) at Washington Township Building in lieu of services.
Bob’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
