Obituary for Richard K. Thompson
Richard K. Thompson, age 82, of Knox, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. Richard was born January 31, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Samuel and Annie Faurschou Thompson, both deceased. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired Post Master, having worked many years for the U.S. Postal Service. In 1985 he married Shirely (Rethford), she survives. Also surviving are his children, Susan Miller (Bert) of Florida, Steven Thompson (Kelly) of Nevada, Carlos Shrewsbury (Sandy) of Greencastle, IN, Danny Shrewsbury (Debbie) of Kentucky, Joan Shrewsbury (Treness) of West Virginia, Beverly Queer (Tom) of Knox, IN, and Frank Shrewsbury of Knox, IN, 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Louis and Neil Thompson, and a sister, Erma Nelson. A graveside service will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox, at 11:00am (ct), Wednesday, June 29, 2016. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
