Obituary for Richard J. Neuberg
Richard J. Neuberg, age 76, of Largo, Florida, passed away May 20, 2022. Richard was born on December 2, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Neuberg and Adeline Bozak. Son of Joseph and Adeline, Richard was one of ten, married his wonderful wife Margaret “Peg” of 57 years, having 7 children of their own: Richard, Lawrence, Raymond, Rusell, Robert, Lorrie and Andrew.
Richard had multiple careers throughout his life, but is probably best remembered for his 15 years as owner of “The Family Café” located in downtown Knox, IN.
Richard was a philanthropist and Starke Co. legend believing in “Supporting the community that supports us” and his hospice slogan “Give til it hurts”. Richard was involved in multiple charities including: Hospice of Starke County, Starke County Youth Club, Starke County Soccer League, Knox Food Pantry, Community Services, multiple churches and city functions, too many to really list.
Visitation to be held at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Sunday, June 5 10am-4pm with services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Starke County Hospice in honor of Richard.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home.
