Obituary for Rev. George Joseph Ware
Rev. George Joseph Ware, age 85, of Knox, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 19,2021 at home. He was born June 18, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ray Ware and Thelma Herbert Ware, both deceased. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had been a minister in the Wesleyan Church for many years and in many locations, including; Pensacola, Florida (Brownsville), Mt. Orab, Ohio, Columbus, Ohio, Jackson, Ohio, and Merritt Island, Florida. He opened a mission in Port Richey, Florida supplying food, clothes and the gospel to the needy and homeless, he filled in at the Missionary Alliance Church in Spring Hill, Florida while they were without a pastor and had also filled in at the Nazarene Church wherever needed. He was currently a member of the Hudson Wesleyan Church, working with the Rev. Johan van Heerden and their church congregation. He had said, “I am retired, but not quitting, as there is much work to be done.”
He is survived by his three children, Mark Ware (Kerrie) of Homosassa, Florida, Daniel Ware of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Susan Whaley (Leon) of Knox, Indiana, his grandchildren, Jason Whaley, Christine Whaley, Danielle Whaley, David Ware, Mike Ware and Jesse Ware, great grandchildren, Promise Fox, Caleb Ware, Mia Whaley, and Gwen Whaley, brothers and sisters, Wilba Erwin (Bob) of South Holland, Illinois, Lolu Towers (Jim) of Amelia, Ohio, Ivan Ware (Mary) of Amelia, Ohio, Mary Kuehne (Buckey) of Sidney, Ohio, Herbie Ware (Carol) of Sardinia, Ohio, and Janie Tone (Charlie) of Columbia, Kentucky.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox, Indiana is handling arrangements.
