Obituary for Raymond Roy Cowen Sr.
Raymond Roy Cowen, age 56, of Knox, Passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at I.U. Health Starke Hospital in Knox, of natural causes. Ray was born August 11, 1957 in Knox, to Oscar O. Cowen Sr. and Roberta (Burger) Cowen, both deceased. He has been employed by the City of Knox Water Department since September of 2001. Ray leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Sherry Lynn (Salyer) Cowen, a son, Raymond Roy Cowen Jr. (Leah) of Plant City, FL, a daughter, Raynae Jo (Cowen) Berg (Darren) of Grovertown, Grandchildren, Ray Ray, Cooper, Gracen Mae, Spencer, Pamela Kay, Jackson and Dante, step-sons, Erik Berg (Tina) of Grovertown and Evan Berg of Knox, a sister, Laura Cowen of Knox, Oscar O. Cowen Jr., of Knox, David Cowen of South Bend, and Robert Cowen of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Beatrice Burger and Elmer and Laura Cowen. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 1:00pm, with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Oak Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family would be appreciated.
