Ray F. Kwasny, age 74, of Knox, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025. Ray was born February 11, 1951 in Hammond, Indiana to Frederick and Jean Kwasny, both of whom have preceded him in death. Over his working career Ray had worked as both a draftsman for a steel mill, but most recently as a nurse. His true love was playing music and he had been a drummer for several bands over the years including; Midnight Express, The Other Side, Honey and the Hoosiers, Academy of Rock and Peace, Love and Happiness, to name a few. He is survived by his wife, Patti Kwasny, two daughters, Rosie Rafalski (Mark) of Valparaiso and April Flickinger (Patrick) of Burr Ridge, Illinois, a brother, Dave Kwasny of Munster, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Ryan Heise, Aaron Heise, Evan Heise, Stella Flickinger, Amanda Rafalski, Courtney Kavanaugh, and Ryan Rafalski, and four great grandchildren, Wyatt Garvey, Emery Garvey, Gunner Kavanaugh and Weston Kavanaugh. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Nelson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 3-7pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 11am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
