Obituary for Phillip G. DePoy
Phillip G. DePoy, age 73, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Phil was born May 15, 1951 in Winamac, Indiana to George H. DePoy and Ruth (Hood) DePoy. Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything else that allowed him to be outside. He also cherished spending time with his kids and grandkids, he was a great dad and husband and an amazing grandfather. He worked for many years at the telephone company, retiring in 2013 from Centurylink. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Wilson) DePoy of Knox, his children, Traci Gregorski (Tim) of Austin, Texas, Terry DePoy (Jennifer) of Knox, and Timothy DePoy of Knox, a sister, Claudia Biggins (Tom) of Plymouth, Indiana, a sister in law, Pam DePoy of Knox, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Mike, and a sister, Christine DePoy. A celebration of life service will take place at 12noon (CT) on Saturday, November 2, 2024, with visitation one hour prior to services, at the Knox Community Center, 55 E. Lake St., Knox, Indiana, with a luncheon immediately following the services. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Bible Baptist Church would be appreciated.
