Obituary for Michelle L. DeGard
Michelle L. DeGard, age 65 of Knox, formerly of Gary, Indiana passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at her home. Michelle was born January 18, 1961 in Hammond, Indiana to Earl and Jana Gray. She loved spending time gardening, shopping, going to the casino, fishing and going out to dinner. She loved her friends from her place of work, Rockwell Windows and Medallion Cabinetry and cherished time with family. On June 5, 1979 she married her high school sweetheart, Donald DeGard, he survives. Also surviving are her son, Donald DeGard (Misty Starkey) of Hamlet, Indiana, a sister, Kim Humphrey of Colorado, and her grandson, Donald DeGard of Knox.
Her visitation will be from 11am to 1pm (CT) on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with funeral services beginning at 1pm (CT), at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery in Hamlet, Indiana.
