Melissa Jay (Richie) Frain, age 55 of Knox, Indiana entered into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a long courageous battle with neurofibromatosis (NF2).
Also know to her family as “Lady”, she was the very epitome of that word. Full of grace. She was the most kind, selfless, loving, caring, giving, wonderful human being that any of us have ever known. She was the anchor for us all, the glue that held the family together, and she had the special gift to make each of us feel like we were her “favorite”. She loved everyone she ever met and never judged a single soul.
She leaves behind her husband of 25 years, Brian M. Frain of Knox, sons, Zachary Frain of Knox, Braxton Clevenger of Plymouth, and Kaleb Frain (Angelica) of Knox, a daughter, Anna Haskins of Hilliard, Ohio and grandson Owen, who was the light of her life, a brother, Daniel Richie (Susan) of Knox, sisters, Barbara Mitchener (Ray) of Linn, Missouri and Lillian Small (Bradley) of Lake Wales, Florida. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Beatrice Richie, brothers, Larry Richie and Garry Richie and sisters, Regina Risner and Pruda Dunno.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
