Obituary for Meda Howard
Meda Howard, age 80, of Knox, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at her home. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Her independent strength, spiritual belief and determination was an inspiration. She was loved by many and will be remembered with warmth and love. May she rest in peace with God and all those that have gone on before her.
Meda was born April 13, 1936 in Jackson, Kentucky to Willie and Vinnie (Harvey) Campbell, both deceased. She had retired from Starke Memorial Hospital after working there for many years and was an active member of the Aldeen Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Donna Wisemore (Marvin) of Buchanan, Michigan, Danny Howard (Kim) of North Judson, Douglas Howard of Grovertown, Dianna Fletcher (Danny) of Knox, Judy Carlson (Don) of Knox, Darlene McCrammer (Chuck) of Valparaiso, and Sherry Theis (Tony Shaffer) of Knox, brothers and sisters, Caroline Kamba of Knox, Clarie Clemons of Knox, Joy Bailey of North Judson, Sherman Campbell of North Judson, and Harold Campbell of Kentucky, 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Howard and her brothers, Pearl and Seaburn Campbell.
Visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2016 from 4 – 7pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Round Lake Cemetery.
