Obituary for MaryAnn C. Bombagetti
MaryAnn C. Bombagetti, age 89, of Bass Lake, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019. MaryAnn was born October 23, 1929 in Chicago to Theodore Pilarski and Catherine Zaborowski Pilarski, both deceased. She received her nursing degree in February of 1952, she then proceeded to marry Joseph Bombagetti on April 26, 1952, he preceded her in death on August 22, 1993. Her passion for nursing was only exceeded by her love for her family. MaryAnn was an integral part of starting Home Health and Hospice in Starke County. She loved quilting and belonged to two quilting clubs. She also enjoyed reading and attending various activities at the library. Surviving are her children, Joe Bombagetti Jr. (Denise) of Crown Point, IN and Ed Bombagetti (Rose) of Cedar Lake, IN, a sister, Lorraine “Tiny” Contreras (Cecilio “Chile”) of Chicago, a brother, Phillip Pilarski (Lucy) of Carol Stream, IL, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ted Bombagetti (Carol) of Knox, a sister, Barbara Chavez, a brother, Clifford Pilarski and a great granddaughter, Jessah Jordan.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 4-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City, IL at 1pm (CT) on Thursday. Memorial contributions in her memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 1515 E. SR 10, Knox, IN 46534, would be appreciated.
