Obituary for Mary Lou Banks
Mary Lou Banks, age 86, of Knox, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Knox. Mary was born October 13, 1928 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to George and Lizzie Barnett, both deceased. She married Vernon Banks on March 1, 1946, he has preceded her in death, they had been married 57 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker. She is survived by four children, Kenneth L. Banks (Debbie) of Westville, IN, Beverly A. Burger (Gordon) of Knox, Donald Banks (Janet) of Michigan City, and Janet M. Hounshell (Ancil) of Jackson, Kentucky, 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Ray Barnett (Maxine) of Middletown, Ohio, one brother-in-law, and 5 sister-in-laws. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
