Obituary for Mary Ellen Britton
Mary Ellen Britton, age 98, of Knox, passed away Friday, December 08, 2017. Mary was born September 8, 1919 in Star City, Indiana to Acie and Daisy Frasier Swafford, both deceased. On April 4, 1942 she married John S. Britton, he preceded her in death on May 10, 1978. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Britton of Knox, sons, James Britton of Knox, and William Britton of Plymouth, and a sister, Shirley Woodard of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter, Darl Swafford, Marvin Swafford and Mary Britton, and four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services, at Knox United Methodist Church. Interment will take place at Independence Cemetery in Medaryville, Indiana. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
