Maria Magdici, age 97, of Chicago, formerly of Grovertown, Indiana, passed away February 23, 2026. Maria was born February 6, 1929 in Romania to Ioan and Lucrutia Lupu, both deceased. She had been married to Constantin Magdici, who has preceded her in death in March of 1997. She is survived by her children, Teodor Magdici, Harie Constantin Magdici and Timothy Magdici, her siblings, Rafila Stoenescu, Ion Lupu, Simion Lupu and Lucretia Stancu, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. A funeral service will take place March 4, 2026 at 11am (CT) with visitation one hour prior to services at the First Baptist Church of Knox. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Knox. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
