Obituary for Lorraine Francis Macevice
Lorraine Francis Macevice, age 94, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Lorraine was born in Chicago on September 18, 1930 to Chester and Irene Barzydlo. She had been a very active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Knox, spending countless hours volunteering to do almost anything that needed done. She had also been an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society and had cooked many, many meals for church functions and funeral luncheons. She is survived by a son, Michael J. Olszewski (Karen) of Plymouth, a half-brother, Chuck “Chet” Barzydlo (Sherri) of Hamlet, a half-sister, Donna Jean Atchison (the late Floyd) of Bedford, Indiana, nieces and nephews, Ronald J. Olszewski (Deborah) of Chicago, Linda S. Hintz (the late Oliver) of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Jerome Barzydlo Jr. (Patricia) of Chicago, Elaine Kemperas (Tom) of Huntley, Illinois, George Barzydlo Jr. (the late Terry) of Chicago, William Barzydlo of Florida, Mary Lou Ledvina (Darrel) of Colorado, and Olivia Critchlow (Jason) of South Bend, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Macevice, a sister, Bernadine Olszewski, brothers, Jerome Barzydlo Sr. and George Barzydlo Sr., and a nephew, Chris Barzydlo.
