Obituary for Lorne Ivan Hillier
Lorne Ivan Hillier, age 69, of Knox, Indiana passed away at home on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Lorne was born on August 17, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of the late Joseph J. and the late Marvel Mae (Long) Hillier. While growing up in San Diego, California Lorne served as an altar boy for many years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Lorne graduated from the University of San Diego High School. After high school Lorne joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany, where he learned the German language. Lorne was a member of the Knox VFW and the Friendly Sons of Erin.
Lorne is survived by his loving children, Melanie White, Daniel (Robin) Hillier, both of Knox, Indiana, and Patricia (Brandon) Wunderly of Etters, Pennsylvania, treasured grandchildren, Derek and Quentin White, Teree (Dalton) Salyer, Indiana and Brandon Wunderly, and Harrison Wunderly, and great granddaughter, Adison Salyer. Loving sisters, Marvel (late Oren) Carrol, Dolly (Louie) Martinez, LeiLani (Steven) Buzinski, Charlotte (Steven) Isbister and brothers, Joseph (Vida) Hillier, George (Nancy) Hillier and Kevin Hillier. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by sister Donna Colleen and brothers, John Joseph, James Daniel, and Michael Francis. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
