Obituary for Linda Sue Owens

Linda Sue Owens, age 67, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Linda was born October 16, 1951 in Hazard, Kentucky to Lee Clemons and Mandy Martin Clemons, both deceased. Linda “Clem” was part of the North Judson San Pierre High School graduating class of 1970, she was a member of the Knox Community Outreach Tabernacle, a 40 plus year member of the Euchre Club, Wednesday night Women’s Golf League, and the Knox American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. From 1985-2010 Linda and Dean, along with Vic Owens were owners of O’s Tap in Knox “Where Good Friends Meet”. Linda’s most precious and important job in her life was being a Memaw to her grandson, Corbin “Corb-man, Corbs” Owens.
On October 21, 1972, in Knox, she married Prentice Dean Owens. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2007. She is survived by her son, Ron “R.D.” Owens (Lisa) of Knox, her grandson, Corbin Owens of Knox, granddaughter, Rebecca McComas of Portage, Indiana, step daughters, Sharon McClung (Travis) of North Carolina, Sherri Dickson (Scott) of Grovertown, Indiana, and Susie Reinholt (Tim) of Kokomo, Indiana, step-grandchildren, Quinn Biddle, Tyler Stevens, Brock & Breonna McClung, Ryan and Marissa Reinholt, sisters, Wilma Bradley of Knox and Elvira Russell of Denham, a brother, Ron Clemons (Dorothy) of North Judson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins that she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Estill Clemons, Lillie Mae Russell, Elizabeth June Lewandowski and Robert Clemons.
Linda was a woman with a big heart, a giver. She was always there to help a person in need whether it be family, friend or foe. She was a die-hard Yankees and Steelers Fan. Some of Linda’s best memories were of times spent with her family at reunions, holidays and countless road trips and vacations with family and dear friends.
Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 4-8pm (CT) at M. C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
Most didn’t know this, but Linda was also a writer. She started writing a book when her Corbs was born in 2001. Tuesday evening Corbs sat with Linda and they finished the last chapter together.
