Obituary for Laurel "Chrissy" Tarnow
Laurel Christine “Chrissy” Tarnow, age 73, of Knox, passed away on December 12, 2018. Chrissy was born April 9, 1945 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Joseph Brown and Donna Kent Brown, both deceased. On November 27, 1965 she married Rod Tarnow at the Lutheran Church in Hamlet, Indiana, he survives. Also surviving are her son, Raymond Tarnow of Valparaiso, her brother, Jeff Brown of Zeeland, Michigan, and her grandsons, Jacob and Adam Tarnow. She had worked for 26 years as the cook at the Knox Elementary School and still recognizes many of her former students. She was a vibrant, cheerful lady who loved talking to people, sending and receiving holiday cards, playing cards with her lady friends and laughing. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, especially her family.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at the Door Village Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions to the Starke County Human Society would be appreciated.
